• Q: Hi sir,I am studying B.TECH final year MECHANICAL branch, what are the opportunities for me to go higher education or for jobs? shiva karnati
Ans: Read the article published in Eenadu Chaduvu column on 21-07-2014 about the career opportunities for Mechanical Engineering graduates
Q: I completed my B.tech(CSE branch) with second class in 2011...I want to become a cyber lawyer(who deals the cases in the Cyber life).I do not know how to became a cyber lawyer...Please help me... ravitheja kari
Ans: Cyber lawyers are not special lawyers. Lawyers, who specialize in cyber cases are termed as cyber lawyers. For practicing law, you will have to pursue law. You may take LAWCET and do law degree. Alternatively, you can be cyber cases investigator. For that you will have to pursue a diploma in cyber laws, followed b certification in cyber security. Once you are certified to practice as cyber investigator, you will be dealing with cyber cases only. Visit the website of NALSAR, to find out the courses that suit your requirement. In the meanwhile, you may apply for Inspectors post in police so that you will be dealing with cyber cases. You may also try for civil services. Other posts that you would be eligible for are cyber investigator, cyber law consultants, traffic annalists Intelligence officers etc. You can see the Cyber law scope more in government than in private. Because most of the departments IB, NIA, CBI, NIC are looking for cyber law candidates for scientific officers, Intelligence officers, technical officers, Assistant Central Intelligence officers etc.University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun offers an integrated course B.Tech CSE + LLB Hons.
Q: sir, I completed btech recently in ECE stream....I wanted to prepare for civil services....pls give complete information about the exam patterns and the subject that each step of selestion process contains...also an idea about the optionals..........pls give me complete information sir.... harikrishna vangara
Ans: Read the notification details from the official website of the UPSC. http://upsc.gov.in. You may pose some specific questions after you go through the notification. In case you want to prepare engineering subject, then you will have to take EEE as there is no ECE given as option.
Q: hi sir this is SATISH. I'm B.TECH ECE background. i heard that we can study in Singapore with gate score card in the following two universities 1)Nanyang Technological University Graduate 2)National University of Singapore Graduate MY QUESTION IS,only GATE SCORE is enough or WE SHOULD WRITE GRE EXAM ALSO? PLEASE INFORM. AND ALSO I HEARD THAT IN SINGAPORE WE GET SCHOLARSHIP WITH GATE SCORE AND HOW MUCH?PLEASE INFORM AND PLEASE INFORM ABOUT COURSE FEE AND LIVING EXPENSIVE....THANK YOU SIR .....SATISH.EENADU@LIVE.COM satish kumar
Ans: You are right. Both the universities offer admissions based on GATE score. You have to have a decent aggregate in Engineering, together with at least 90 percentile in GATE. GATE Score is enough to get admission. In case you do not have GATE score, you can seek admission through GRE score and the cutoff is around 320. The fees structure is given below.
National University of Singapore Graduate Tuition Fee: 10000~17220 SGD (Singapore dollars) Approximately 3~5 Lakh Indian Rupees per annum.
Nanyang Technological University Graduate admissions Tuition Fee: 10000~17220 SGD (Singapore dollars) Approximately 3~5 Lakh Indian Rupees per annum.
Some programs at NUS and NTU are very competitive and comparable to the world’s best Universities. Only problem I find is that last date of application to these two Universities is not synchronized to GATE exam. For example the last date of admission in NUS is 15th Nov each year for AUG intake and 15 May for Jan intake. So if you wish to get admission into NUS then you have to wait at least 6 months. If anyone who has qualified GATE in his’/her 3rd year then he may apply for admission to NUS and NTU without wasting 6 months.
There is also a Scholarship scheme for GATE qualified as well as non- qualified students. It is called A-Star Scholarship scheme. The most wonderful thing about Singapore govt.'s policy is A-Star Scholarship, through which students around the globe can apply at NUS/NTU Singapore, based on their brilliant profile (they may apply even without the need of GRE/GATE!). So, if academic and co-curricular profile has been brilliant and, some how you couldn't/can't give GRE/GATE, feel free to apply at NUS through Singapore govt.'s A-Star Scholarship scheme. There is no application fee for this mode of application!! Following is the link to A-STAR details:
NUS and NTU have two types of the program
    1. Coursework based (Masters/bachelors program Only)
    2. Research based (Masters/Doctoral)
In case of research based program scholarship is sure whereas in case of course work based program you will have tight competition for scholarship.
Q: Hai sir my name is SRINIVAS. Q:
sir, i am studying b tech second year in ece branch. i would like to learn computer courses, please suggest me what are the computer courses should i learn.
    ( BALAKRISHNA CHALAVADI)
Ans: If you want to make a career in development, learn course in JAVA or .NET to start with. These are only tools to write a program to solve a problem.
Domain to which the problem belongs lets you make a choice better. It is advised to do additional courses in in new courses like Hadoop, Big Data, and courses associated with Cloud and its programming.
Q: sir ..my name is Ramesh. i preparing for gate exam. already i written exam on 2013 gate bt i dis qualified. now i hv to write d exam..my question is....how to prepare the exam and time saving ..online exaams ki ela prepare avaaali...can u tell me those details to my mail ..thank you sir ( ramesh sandinavena)
Ans: On-line examinations are new to many as traditionally we are trained to take examinations in a paper based system. Even the way we view the question also is different in the sense that in case of paper based test, we see the question top-down whereas in case of on-line tests, it is horizontal. It there requires that we practice them before we can take the real examination. Here are some tips to practice for the GATE examination.
    * Divide your reading and preparation into book based and computer based.
    * For some part of your material, prepare from the computer also so that your eyes get used to reading from the screen also.
    * Do not read continuously when you are on the computer.
    * Get acquainted with the computer for faster practice using mouse and keyboard
    * Almost all the IITs provide on-line mock tests in the GATE exam. Visit these websites and practice them for gaining speed in thinking, and answering. The very purpose of these mock tests is to familiarize the students for the new format of the exam. Also, follow tests from the following web sites, some of which are on a paid service basis.
    http://www.wiziq.com/tests/gate
    http://www.wisdom24x7.com/
    http://www.gate.onlinetestseries.in/
    http://www.ipractice.in/
More than practice, you need to be good at your subject which very essential for understanding the questions much faster than normal. Focus on the quality of preparation also. Do not forget that GATE is a national level exam taken by professional graduates and Post graduates. So it is fight among the better prepared candidates. Also, as you reach higher in competition, the scope gets narrowed and fight will be with more matured and more aware candidates. Good luck to you.

Ans: Your job in private sector is not dependent on the GATE score you have. It is applicable only for some Public Sector Organizations. M.Tech in EEE is available in many Universities and colleges. If you belong to OC category, you may get in a private engineering college. Join a good college where you really get to learn subject and will be able to appreciate the difference between M.Tech and B.Tech. Following are some major specializations available for EEE students. Normally to enhance the career opportunities, M.Tech is pursued by students. Some may have aptitude towards research or teaching jobs. They also pursue M.Tech. As for job opportunities are concerned, there is wide scope for M.Tech in EEE, both in government as well as private. M.E/M.Tech graduates in these fields can find lucrative career opportunities in Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL), Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) and like Senior Engineer, Scientist, Project Consultant etc.

Q: Sir I am studying B tech third year mechanical engineering. My aim is that to work in any engineering collage as a lecturer. So can you guide me that which way is more suitable to reach my aim?( Rajesh Akula)
Ans: The minimum prescribed qualification for lecturer’s post is M.Tech. With this you can be lecturer only. For further promotions as associate professor and professor, it is compulsory to pursue Ph.D. It is better you complete all the education in one go and then join lecturer’s post. You can take GATE examination and get qualified to seek admission in a very good institution like IIT/NIT so that you get scholarship and you don not feel that you are burden to your parents. Plan your career properly.
Q: Sir, I have done my b.tech(CSE) in 2011 with 73.8%. After that I got placed in few companies, but due to some reasons I didn't join any company. I have done my course in .NET. I know it is not possible to get a job as a fresher though I'm good at subject. I've sufficient subject knowledge to get into a job. But I don't want to keep any fake experience. What I am planning to do is to join m.tech and after finishing masters I would like to start my job hunt as a fresher again. So I've given PGECET exam and got 1876 rank. What my question is Is it a good idea to do masters and then to start job hunt as a fresher after this much of gap in career. And I'm in a little bit confusion in choosing the colleges. I know I will get good colleges. But I cannot afford that much of MONEY . There is no scope of getting scholarship too. Presently I'm working for an overseas consultancy for a little amount. But if I want to join a good college again it will be a burden for my father. So I am thinking of joining a normal college at a low fee. I have confidence on me that even though I join a normal college I will secure a decent percentage. Choosing a normal college will have any affect on my career? Please suggest me what to do. And I'm planning to join courses related to govt. exams based on my time availability. Please do reply for this query sir. Your one suggestion may make a difference in my life. Thanking you in advance (Rihana Mohammed)
Ans: It is appreciable that you have correct picture of you present status. At the same time, you are not thinking properly in case of college for you M.Tech. The minimum annual fee for M.Tech is about 58,000 and some additional fees. By joining a ‘normal’ college, you are actually wasting money. Further, it should not so happen that the very college becomes a disadvantage for your chances of getting a job. So please be careful while choosing your college.

Q: Do not think that fee paid for studies is an expense. It is an investment for your better future. What you spend today on education may be earned back in a couple of months. Further, do your project seriously and do a good project where your contribution is really seen. If you have financial problems, you may think of going for educational loans for your M.Tech. Take a decision that helps you in the long run.
Sir, I secured 1106 rank belonging to OC category in PGECET 2014. Is it possible to get M.Tech Computer Science free seat in any college of Telangana State
    (RADHIKA KOTA)

Ans: You may get in any private engineering colleges in Telangana if the rules as stand now are applied. However, if the rules of nativity are modified by the Telangana government, you will have to secure a seat under 15% non-local quota if you do not velong to Telangana region.

Q: sir / madam my name is k v ramanaiah , i completed B.Tech Mechanical on 2010. now i want to join in M.Tech , i qualified PGECET with 4286 rank general category , please tell me which branch is better in future( Kancharla Ramanaiah)
Ans: Following are some of the specializations available for M.Tech (Mech). Choose the in the order of preference as given. Please do take care that the specialization chosen by you is as per your interest also.
    1. Thermal Engineering
    2. Computer Integrated Manufacturing

Q: HI SIR i have passed out the b.tech civil engineering in 2014, most them saying that there is loop holes for while selecting the particular field of specialization in US, can u give the information regarding jobs in civil in US, ITS DEMAND FOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING? Munish Indla
Ans: What kind of loop holes are you referring to is not clear. It you who choose the specialization to pursue and your preference prevails. For a course in high demand, concessions like financial support, fees waiver etc., are difficult to get. When a new specialization is introduced, normally a little bit higher concessions are offered in a bid to promote the course. But for this, there are no other loop holes. On an average about 50% of the applications for Civil Engineering are rejected by US universities due to the high demand it commands. It is estimated that in USA, the demand for civil engineers is posting a healthy 25% growth every year.

Q: Sir I’m completed my b.tech computer science and engineering. I have qualified for pgecet2014.in m.tech which branch is best and more job opportunities available. Please tell clear information about the m.tech branches with detail
    (Sravan kumar mukkagalla)
Ans: Following are the specializations available at M.Tech level for B.Tech (CSE). Choose your program that interests you the most. If you are interested in PhD and research, you may consider opting for courses at Sl. No. 1,5,6,7,9,12. If you want to go for job after M.Tech and then pursues PhD some time after, you may choose other courses in addition to the course at Sl. No 1.
